1. Who we are

Empowerment Thru Spoken Word Poetry - TAPN2U ("ESWP", "we", "us") is a U.S. 501(c)(3) public charity based in Wixom, Michigan. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect information about people who visit our website, attend our programs, donate, or contact us.

2. What we collect

We only ask for what we genuinely need:

• Contact information you provide on our forms — name, email, phone, organization, and the content of your message.
• Donation information — billing name, email for receipts, gift amount, frequency, dedication notes. Card numbers are handled by our payment processor and never stored on our servers.
• Newsletter subscription — email address and your stated interest.
• Volunteer applications — name, contact, background, and what you're offering.
• Limited technical information — IP address, browser type, pages visited. Used to keep the site working and detect abuse.

3. How we use information

• To respond to your message or application.
• To process your gift and issue tax-deductible receipts under EIN 88-2441062.
• To send updates you've subscribed to. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• To run our programs (e.g. registering you for a workshop you signed up for).
• To meet our legal, tax, and accounting obligations as a U.S. nonprofit.

4. Sharing & third parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. We share only with vetted service providers who help us operate — payment processors, email delivery, hosting — and only the data they need to perform their function. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our community.

5. Cookies & analytics

Our website uses only essential cookies necessary to function. We do not run advertising trackers. If analytics are introduced in the future, they will be privacy-respecting (aggregated, no cross-site tracking) and disclosed here.

6. Donation data

Donation processing is handled by a PCI-compliant payment processor. ESWP receives the metadata it needs to issue a receipt (name, email, amount, frequency) but never the full card number or CVV. Recurring donor information is stored only as long as the recurring gift is active.

7. Minors

Our website and donation forms are not directed to children under 13. For youth programs, we collect minimal information and require parental or guardian consent in line with applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 online.

8. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Ask us what information we hold about you.
• Request that we correct or delete your information.
• Opt out of newsletters or marketing communications at any time.
• Withdraw consent for non-essential processing.
• Make an anonymous report — see the Contact section.

9. Retention

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, plus any period required by law (for example, donor records for tax and audit purposes). When no longer needed, we delete or anonymize the data.

11. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Material changes will be communicated through the website and, where appropriate, by email.
